I say that with all respect. I really want all member in forum building large knowledge . Lets my say about few story, I'm not graduate form electronic university . Electronic it's my hobby and i have learn for myselft from ebook english, forum, internet ...etc. First Meter i had bought it's Sanwa PC5000A and Hioki 3030-10 . I dont know how to using needle meter , so in next years i give a away for my brother. And i forgot about needle meter, so time after time , My labs have few next upgrate it's upgrade meter to 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 and at last it's 8 1/2 . But, in my mind allway have hole , why other borther continue using needle meter, and him process repair very quickly in hardly situation . So i came back and bought one needle meter. And i find out crystalradio forum, register member and learn from other master in forum.
I know few member don't want to care about old needle meter , few reason like , big, hevy weight, hard to read , and need take care about droop from high table. But if you deep understand about needle meter, it's relationship with Volt Amper.
Do you know I/V Curve (Current–voltage characteristic) ? Needle meter like small marchine for measurement Current–voltage characteristic. When deep understand in LV/LI , you can imagine out what look like IV characteristic ! It's that case digital meter never can make like that.
Otherwise , one function of needle meter it's Low Z , ( Low impedance ) . Can prevent ghost voltage ( battery ghost voltage - Need load in in logic pin ..etc) . Low Z it's high value function have in few expensive meter ( Fluke 289 - Absolutely need pay more for function )
