Hall was a famed radio builder in the 1960s / 1970s.

in 1968, he published the original Miniflex, and that was a hit:



various revisions were made since then, and mkiii came in 1971:



I thought it was interesting that a) he used an led as the detector and then b) how he implemented a reflex radio.

I never built it myself but in case you are interested.
